New York: Central Book Co, 1934. First edition. Hardcover with unclipped jacket. Maroon cloth covers with decorative gilt titles to the cover and spine. Octavo. 346 pp. Signed dated and inscribed by Berger on the first free endpaper. Laid in is a single fold pamphlet in cream and green debatably promising "Something Entirely New in the Field of Literature" with an order form on the back. "A detailed account in narrative from of an ingenious attempt to mulct fire insurance companies for over a quarter of a million dollars through the insurance of paintings."
Inscription from Samuel Berger to Mary Krub dated 1934 on first free endpaper. Near fine. toning to the pages / Good. darkening to the spine, some small chipping and loss to the corners and spine. Front flap separated halfway up and all contained in a clear protective mylar cover. Item #683
