The Early Fears features 39 of the author's short stories, including all from Bloch's first two short story collections, plus 3 previously uncollected stories.
Signed by Robert Bloch on a pasted in plate on the first free endpaper. This is a signature plate from "The Eighth Stage of Fandom", a book assembling Bloch's best essays from fan-produced magazines and first published in 1962. Bloch was ill and passed shortly after issue of the Early Fears and few trade copies were signed. It seems likely that a collector has pasted in a plate from that earlier publication.
