Flying Saucers And The Three Men

Clarksburg, West Virginia: Saucerian Books, 1962. Stated first edition. Hardcover in an unclipped jacket. Blue cloth covers with stamped title on the cover and spine, Octavo. 194 pp.
A Ufology classic and a must for any collection. Albert K. Bender, WWII veteran, editor of the Space Review and founder of the first worldwide civilian UFO club, the International Flying Saucer Bureau (ISFB) which he suddenly and mysteriously shut down within a year.
Bender did not speak of the event for nine years and then broke his silence in 1962 with this book. A wild tale of UFO conspiracy and threats by sinister men in black suits. This book popularized the legend of the Men In Black, a shadowy organization, possibly alien or government agents or alien government agents whose purpose is to question, harass and intimidate UFO witnesses and remove conclusive evidence of alien contact. The MIB are a recognizable part of popular contemporary culture having sparked a film franchise, television and video games and are in integral part of UFO folklore.  Very good. Contemporaneous and very specific owner's signature and date on the first free endpaper (June 28, 1962 thursday) / Very good. Light toning to the edges of the flaps, minimal corner scuffing and small chipping to the top and bottom of spine. Small area of soiling to the front cover. Presented in a clear protective mylar cover. Item #528
